ST ANNE'S SCHOOL CONFESSIONS

I have spent three days in our parish primary school this week confessing the Junior School children.

I always find this experience very rewarding. The humble, simple sincerity of the children's approach to the Sacrament is very uplifting. I come away each day with a spring in my step. They have been well prepared by their teachers, catechists and parents - and it shows.

How encouraging it is too when members of staff also take this opportunity to celebrate the Sacrament, and what an excellent example this is to our children.

Congratulations and well done to all concerned.

Redecoration of our church

What a pleasure it has been to have had Joso and Ervin working in our church during the past few weeks.
How encouraging to meet such hard-working men who show such reverence for the House of Lord in which they are working.

During the painting work we have celebrated Mass during the week in St Ann's Room - a bit of a squash but everyone has rallied round and we have managed nevertheless to accommodate everyone who turned up for Mass.

Now that the final stage, the porch area, is almost complete we look forward to returning to our newly decorated church for daily Masses. One final disruption is planned, however, as we hope to renew the old, worn and chipped floor tiles in the porch with some new flooring more in keeping with the rest of our newly decorated church.

Wedded Bliss!

Weddings are always very joyful occasions and I would like to share with you this lovely photo of Louise and Terry's recent wedding at St Ann's.

WELCOME TO OUR NEW PARISH BLOG

This is a new venture for us at St Ann's and the technology is all very new to me so I ask you to be patient and excuse all the beginner's mistakes! The aim of this blog is to bring you up to date with news and events from our parish and give readers an insight into what makes our parish 'tick'.

I don't promise to be able to 'blog' daily or even weekly but if I have anything to say and time to put it down in print, then I hope I'll be able to add a few comments and sometimes pictures which I find interesting and hope you will too.

From time to time there are items of particular interest in the Catholic media or in the secular press, radio and TV which are worth commenting on.

We'll just see how it goes! Please keep me and this new venture in your prayers.
